Lighthouse Kitchen - Pain aux Raisins - classic French danish

Pain aux raisins, also called escargot or pain russe, is a spiral pastry often eaten for breakfast in France. 

In France, it is typically a variant of the croissant made with a leavened butter pastry with raisins added and shaped in a spiral with a crème pâtissière filling. 

After much effort, the Lighthouse found a Quebec bakery willing to send us these famous danishes, uncooked and flash frozen. We freshly bake these beauties each day, and they always sell out quickly! If you want to preorder them, though, we are happy to bake some especially for you, please just give us two hours notice!
