The fruit of this 100% Malbec comes from seven different Combel sites totalling 8.5 hectares around their home village of Cournou, which lies on the Causse, a limestone plateau in Cahors at 250-320 meters in elevation.

This wine has aromas of concentrated blueberry, licorice, and cassis, with green herbs and a hint of coca on the finish. The palate adds red cherry, raspberry, red fruits, and earthy, leathery tones with hints of smoke, mineral and stone mid-palate. Refreshing acidity balanced by soft tannins and a long finish.

Excellent to pair with cassoulet, mushrooms, roast duck, duck confit, roast lamb, roast pork, mild blue cheese, short ribs, couscous, and turkey.
